The Klamath River area has plenty to offer, anytime of the year. We are located in the community of Klamath River, California. Come and stay with us and experience the richness of our area. We have a waterfront to enjoy fishing and try your hand at gold prospecting. If you miss doing farm chores, we can always use another hand at feeding. If you like to do craft projects, you may enjoy the studio and the happenings in it.
Come and stay in our cozy yurt, set high above the river, in a forest of trees. Wake up to the sound of ducks and redheaded woodpeckers. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine on the deck. Our yurt will sleep four, has a woodstove, composting toilet and cold running water. There is a full bath in another building for your use.
"Billie, Willie and Millie" arrived the week of Valentine's day, 2007. They are the latest additions to the "poison oak eating gang", here on the river. Angora kids are full of energy and curiosity from the first week of life. They love to climb up onto the highest thing they can find. If you come to visit in the spring, chances are we will always have some new babies to cuddle. It is the first two shearings of mohair that are most prized by spinners and when you hold these little ones, you will see why. They smell like wonderful mohair! We have 4 hens that lay eggs on a daily basis, 2 Great Pyrenees Guards and now 5 Angora goats. There is never a dull moment with all of these animals around and they are to be enjoyed while you are here with us. You are free to gather eggs or learn about cleaning and spinning of the mohair from the goats or just cuddle the babies.
The first quilted, angora trimmed jacket is still being designed and constructed, but should be available soon. I will also have a line of matching earrings and bracelets, made of polymer clay. You are welcome to visit my studio and see how wearable art is constructed here on the premises of Dragonfly Den.
